We Are on the Cusp of Something Big

As we enter the 3rd month of our global “new normal”, we can already see the immense changes taking place on planet earth. Yes, this pandemic encompasses the entire globe.

This is a story with 2 or more parallel perspectives. The health professionals and scientists are providing information based on research and fact. Whereas, many people in the US (and other countries) are focused on the economic disruption as a priority to solve immediately. At the present time these two views are creating a gap in perspectives.

Aside from the challenges we face as a world community, (not experienced since the great depression), we now have an opportunity to reset, reframe, and revive our global values for the greater good.

How do we do this is the question?

Basically we are having a wake up call. We are being called to be better global citizens.

The pandemic is peeling back the negative aspects that are harmful, exposing them, and then out of necessity quickly deciding what to do. For far too long people of lesser means have been largely ignored. Quite frankly, we are now in this together in the same boat, with a leveling of the playing field; all in 60 days!

As a way to support a better and healthier society, is to make mental health a #1 priority. I can see glimpses of this already happening here in the US, where I live. We are beocming more aware of one another and our collective needs.

People are reaching out, showing concern for one another with more compassion, more concern, sharing humor, and waking up to our shared sense of humanity.

This “new normal” is so hard, but it’s also cracking open a new beginning to restructure and create a better society.

This is so new and fresh, and there is no stable roadmap to follow.

As a proponent of people engaging in their creative process as a way to enhance one’s mental health, I wholeheartedly encourage “‘being creative” a priority and path to greater awareness, courage, and faith.

Because being creative can be scary, people can easily be stopped by their own inner critic. The inner critic lands on our shoulders right away, trying to stop us when we step into our creative pursuits. Most often it’s in the mindset of perfectionism.

As a creativity coach, and artist, I’m well aware that the paralysis of perfectionism as a rampant epidemic (of a different sort!).

If you feel the negative pull of perfectionism holding you back, there is hope.

I’m offering an online workshop to share collaboratively our experiences of our ever present perfectionistic inner critic.

The title for the workshop is; “Perfection Paralysis; Exploring Ways to Understand and Let Go”

Included in the 1 hour workshop, will be low pressure exercises and tools to realign your thinking, and help you to move forward so that our creative projects will bring us joy, peace, health benefits, perseverance, and liberating individualism.

We as enlightened creative global citizens, can change the direction, and our “new normal” can be more compassionate, caring, eco-friendly, and we will be able to creatively solve our problems together.

The workshop will be announced on my facebook page;

Namaste.
